FAQs

Why is it important to use a local company for my alarms and key holding?
ACPO guidelines state your alarm should be investigated within 20 minutes. This helps the police to be released for other duties and lessens the noise problems associated with alarms. Therefore a local company, employing a mobile guard for your area will be able to stick to these criteria. Also local guards can draw on their own knowledgeto good advantage when it comes to escape routes crime trends, etc.
Why should I use a company who are Approved Contractors?
The ACS standard encompasses 89 points, which go some way to prove to an independent assessor that a company is run properly. It looks at finances, staff conditions training and licensing. Customer service is heavily focused upon as well any part of a business which will in the long run ensure that the end user gets a professional service.
How are the guards monitored?
All sites get visited at least once a night by our mobile supervisor. He checks on smartness, alertness and adherence to site instructions. Problems are reported to the management and are dealt with quickly. The guards phone into a call room operator every hour to ensure their own safety and if these calls are not made extra visits are made toensure all is correct on site. We also actively invite clients to comment on the guards and encourage them to become part of the team on their premises.
Are your guards security vetted?
All guards will have been checked by the SIA but as an approved contractor we have to vet to BS7858 standards. This allows us to look at a five year checkable history. If we have any doubts the guard is not employed.
What will the guards actions be when on site?
The guards will be made to read and understand the site instructions. This gives them strict guidelines regarding what they can and cannot do and are agreed with the client prior to commencement of the contract. They will be expected to be self-motivated but will be tasked with a minimum of two patrols per hour and take a pride in their work. We like them to be inquisitive and ask questions but to be pragmatic and approachable.  We expect problems or incidents to be reported as soon as is practicable and for the client to be informed within 24 hours.
Why should I give my keys to someone else?
Things look different in the dark. By that we mean do you want to goout to your premises in the early hours to deal with an alarm. Not only will you be fearful of what you might find, your next working day could be ruined. Your premises, which you probably know inside and out, can look very different should there be a case of an electrical fault resulting in no lighting, e.g.  You could fall over and not be found until morning, you could disturb a burglar or you could be sat on your own without support waiting for the alarm company to attend. The list is endless but is one which can be quickly eradicated by using a service like ours.
Do you only look after business premises?
We will provide services to anyone. If you are going on holiday we can help and do in fact have numerous clients who have second homes and are away for a few months. The service is the same as is the care we take over your premises.
Why would I need the services of a security dog rather than a guard?
The ultimate deterrent on a site is a dog handler and suitably trained dog. All our dogs are trained through the National Dog Training Centre to a high standard. A pro active handler and a dog which can show controlled aggression will deter the most determined thief.
How could a drug detection dog help my business?
Drugs are now a common place factor in staff absenteeism , internal theft or poor performance. Most people know someone who has been affected either directly or indirectly by drugs. By using drug detection dogs we can tell you if there is a presence of illegal substances on your premises and will in many circumstances be able to indicate areas where they are kept or have been used. By giving Human Resources departments this information they can deal with the problem. We offer this service to worried parents as well. We do use passive drug detection dogs at nightclubs to screen customers and by being pro active and inviting us in can have a major impact in Magistrates awarding licences.
